The app collects nothing.
There is no Classets server. No accounts held by us, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party software development kits of any kind. We never see who uses the app or what they do in it, because there is nowhere for that to arrive.
Everything a student creates lives on their own device and is deleted with the app.
The one way anything leaves is the student choosing to send it. A student can tap Send my standing or Export my full portfolio, which opens the ordinary iOS share sheet — Messages, Mail, Files, Drive, AirDrop. Where it goes is their decision and whatever their teacher asked for. It does not come to us, and nothing is ever sent automatically or in the background.
Nicknames, not names. The app asks every student for a nickname and says so on the screen where it is typed, so even what they choose to send is a handle and a play-money balance rather than a record about a child.
WHAT STAYS ON THE DEVICE
Classets keeps the following inside its own private storage area on the device — what iOS calls the app container. It is not shared with other apps and not backed up to any service we operate:
A nickname the student chooses, and an optional PIN
Simulated cash balance, holdings, trade history and watchlist
Which lessons have been marked complete, and which calculators have been opened
For a teacher: the classes they create, and the roster of nicknames in each
The market prices the app ships with, and any prices it has cached
A teacher's device also holds the classes they made, the standings they were sent and pasted in, and the list matching nicknames to real students that they may type for their own use. All of it is theirs, on their device, and none of it is uploaded anywhere.
The money is simulated. Nothing in Classets connects to a bank, a brokerage or a real account, and nothing in it can be bought, sold or withdrawn.
The PIN is not a security feature. It keeps classmates from wandering into each other's practice accounts by accident. It does not encrypt anything and it does not protect against anyone determined to get past it. Please do not enter a PIN used for anything real.
NETWORK CONNECTIONS
By default, Classets makes no network requests at all. The app ships with its full price dataset and its entire lesson library built in, and works with the device in airplane mode. A freshly installed copy contacts no server, including ours.
There is one optional exception. The app includes a screen called Live prices (optional) where a teacher may paste their own free API key from Twelve Data, a market-data provider. The app is complete without it. If a key is entered, the app requests prices for ticker symbols directly from api.twelvedata.com. Those requests contain the ticker symbol and the key, and, as with any internet request, that provider can see the device's IP address. They are governed by Twelve Data's own privacy policy, not this one. No student name, no portfolio, and no other information from the app is ever included. Removing the key on the same screen stops all of it.
CHILDREN
Classets is built for classrooms and is rated for all ages, so we assume children use it.
Because we collect nothing from anyone, we collect nothing from children either. There is nothing to disclose to a parent, nothing to ask us to delete, and nothing we could share with a third party if we wanted to. The app has no messaging, no comments, no profile photos, no ads, and no way for one student to contact another.
What a teacher receives is the teacher's. When a student sends their standing or their portfolio, it arrives in the teacher's own messages, files or drive, and it is held by the teacher and their school under their own policies — the same as any other work a student hands in. It never passes through us.
The app asks for a nickname, not a real name, and says so on the screen where it is chosen. Nothing it stores identifies a child by name. Schools evaluating Classets for student-privacy compliance are welcome to write to us; the short answer is that no student data reaches Big Yeti Games or anyone else.
DELETING YOUR INFORMATION
Four ways, and none of them require waiting on us:
A student opens How this works and chooses Delete this account. It erases that account's cash, holdings, trade history, watchlist and lesson progress.
A teacher opens the class in the teacher view and chooses Delete this class and its students. It erases the class, every student account in it, the standings, and the teacher's own nickname-to-name list. There is a confirmation, and it cannot be undone.
Deleting the app removes everything it ever stored on that device.
There is no copy on a server to request, because one was never made. Anything a student already chose to send their teacher lives wherever they sent it, and only the teacher can remove that.
HOW LONG ANYTHING IS KEPT
We hold nothing, so we keep nothing and there is no archive to ask about.
On a device, an account lasts until somebody deletes it or removes the app. Teachers are asked to delete each class at the end of the school year with the button above, which also clears any standings they pasted in and their own nickname-to-name list.
Anything a student sent a teacher is a file or a message in the teacher's own account, kept by them under their school's policies — treat it like any other gradebook file.
THE BROWSER VERSION
Classets also exists as a web page, used the same way by classes who would rather not install anything. It stores the same two things — a nickname and a simulated portfolio — but in a database hosted by Anthropic as part of that page, governed by Anthropic's privacy policy rather than by Google's. Everything else on this page — what is stored, who can delete it, how long it is kept — applies to both.
EDUCATIONAL CONTENT, NOT ADVICE
Classets's lessons, calculators and credit-card comparison exist to teach how the arithmetic works. They are not personal financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and figures shown for real-world products are approximate and may be out of date. Anything that matters should be confirmed with the institution itself.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If Classets ever begins collecting anything, this page will say so before that version ships, and the date at the top will change. We will not quietly start collecting data under a policy that says we do not.
