GR8-ST8S — Privacy Policy

The short version

GR8-ST8S does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. Everything you do in the app — the states you've claimed, your trip leaderboard, your custom scoring rules — is stored only on your device. We don't use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking.

Data we store on your device

The app stores the following locally using your device's built-in storage (localStorage on iOS/Android WebView) so your game state survives between sessions:

  • States you've marked as claimed, and their point values
  • Your trip name, start date, end date, and final score
  • Your trip leaderboard history (up to 50 most recent trips)
  • Your selected "Hard-to-Get" states for bonus scoring
  • Your Custom Point Rules preferences
  • A cached copy of the US states map data (for offline play)

None of this data leaves your device. You can clear all of it at any time by using the app's "Reset Game" button, or by removing the app from your device.

Data we do NOT collect

  • Name, email address, phone number, or account credentials
  • Precise or approximate location
  • Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or cross-app tracking IDs
  • Contacts, photos, microphone, or camera
  • Usage analytics, crash logs, or telemetry
  • Payment or financial information

Third-party services

GR8-ST8S does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

When you choose to share your trip results using the share button, your device's native share sheet is used. If you select a messaging, email, or social app, that app (and its publisher) handles the sharing outside of GR8-ST8S. We never see or store what you shared.

Children's privacy

GR8-ST8S is designed to be family-friendly and safe for children 4+ on iOS and Everyone on Google Play. Because we do not collect any personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (in compliance with COPPA) or under 16 (in compliance with GDPR-K).

Your rights

Because your data never leaves your device, there is nothing on our servers to access, export, or delete. You control your data directly by using the "Reset Game" button inside the app or by uninstalling GR8-ST8S.

Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom (GDPR), and other jurisdictions with similar privacy laws still have all applicable rights. Because we neither collect nor store data off-device, those requests typically have nothing to act on, but if you have any concerns please email headyeti@bigyetigames.com.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what this app collects or how it handles data, we'll update this page and update the app's store listing before those changes take effect.

  • Does your app collect or share any of the required user data types? No
  • Is all of the user data collected by your app encrypted in transit? Not applicable — no data collected.
  • Do you provide a way for users to request their data be deleted? Yes — via the in-app "Reset Game" button.
