Classets Privacy Policy

Effective October 9, 2026

Classets is an investing simulator for students, made by Big Yeti Games, LLC ("Big Yeti Games," "we," "us"). This policy explains what the Classets iPhone and iPad app stores, where it's kept, and how to delete it.

The short version: Classets collects nothing. There's no Classets server, no accounts held by us, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. Everything a student creates stays on their own device. It leaves only when the student chooses to share their own results.

1. What we collect: nothing

We never see who uses Classets or what they do in it, because the app doesn't send that information anywhere. In App Store terms, Classets collects no data.

2. What the app stores on the device

Classets keeps the following in its own private storage on the device. That storage isn't shared with other apps and isn't sent to us:

  • A name or nickname the student types, so it can appear on the report they hand in. Students can use whatever their teacher asks for: a nickname, first name or initials all work.

  • An optional 4-digit PIN

  • An optional class or period label (for example "Period 3"). It's just a label printed on the student's report. Nothing looks it up or links students together.

  • The simulated portfolio: cash balance, holdings, trade history and watchlist

  • Learning progress: which lessons are complete and which tools have been opened

  • Market prices: the price snapshot built into the app, plus any prices fetched with an optional price key (see Section 4)

The money is simulated. Classets doesn't connect to a bank, brokerage or real account, and nothing in it can be bought, sold or withdrawn for real.

The PIN isn't a security feature. It keeps classmates from wandering into each other's practice accounts on a shared device. It doesn't encrypt anything. Please don't use a PIN that protects anything real.

3. Sharing results with a teacher

The only way information leaves Classets is when a student chooses to share it. Send my standing and Export my full portfolio open the standard iOS share sheet (Messages, Mail, Files, AirDrop and so on), and the student picks where it goes. Nothing is sent automatically or in the background, and nothing is sent to us.

Once a teacher receives a report, it's held by the teacher and their school under their own policies, like any other assignment.

4. Network connections

By default, Classets makes no network requests. Prices, lessons, calculators and games are built into the app, and it works in airplane mode.

One optional exception: live prices. On the Live prices (optional) screen, a student or teacher can paste a free API key from Twelve Data, a market-data provider. If a key is entered, the app requests prices and ticker searches directly from api.twelvedata.com. Those requests contain the ticker symbol or search text and the key. Like any internet request, they also reveal the device's IP address to Twelve Data. They never include the student's name, PIN, class label or portfolio. Twelve Data's handling of those requests is governed by Twelve Data's Privacy Policy. Removing the key stops these requests.

5. Children and students

Classets is built for classrooms, so we assume children and teens use it. Because we collect nothing from anyone, we collect nothing from children. There's nothing for us to disclose to a parent, delete on request or share with a third party.

The app has no messaging, no comments, no profile photos, no ads, and no way for one student to contact another.

A name or nickname is stored only on that device. Big Yeti Games never receives it, it isn't combined with anything, and other users of the app can't see it. Schools that would rather not have real names typed in can simply ask students to use a nickname or initials. The app works the same either way.

Schools reviewing Classets for student-privacy requirements are welcome to contact us.

6. Deleting information

Students don't need to ask us to delete anything:

  • Delete this account (in How this works) erases the name, PIN, class label, cash, holdings, trade history, watchlist and lesson progress for that account. It asks for confirmation and can't be undone.

  • Deleting the app removes everything Classets stored on the device.

There's no copy on a server to request, because one is never made. Reports a student already shared live wherever they were sent, and only the recipient can delete them.

7. How long information is kept

We keep nothing. On the device, an account lasts until it's deleted or the app is removed. On a shared classroom device, we suggest deleting each student's account at the end of the course.

8. Educational content, not advice

Classets' lessons, calculators, simulators and credit-card comparisons teach how the math works. They aren't personal financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Figures for real-world products are approximate and may be out of date.

9. Changes to this policy

If Classets ever starts collecting anything, this page will say so before that version is released, and the date above will change.
