CacheKeep Support

Need a hand? Email headyeti@bigyetigames.com. A real person (the one who builds the app) reads every message. We usually reply within a couple of business days, sometimes sooner, occasionally a little later if the yeti is out on the trail.

When you write, please include your iPhone model, iOS version, the CacheKeep version (Settings › About) and what you tapped. A screenshot helps a lot.

What CacheKeep is

CacheKeep keeps the receipts, income, mileage and tax records for your small or family-run businesses in one organized place. Scan or snap a receipt, file it under a business and event, and CacheKeep sorts it by year and quarter. At year end, build one package for your accountant.

Your records stay on your iPhone and, if you choose, in your own private iCloud and a folder you pick. No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Read the Privacy Policy.

Frequently asked questions

Are my records backed up?

Only if you turn on a backup option. The first time you open CacheKeep, it asks how to protect your records:

  • iCloud Sync keeps a copy in your own private iCloud and syncs it to your other Apple devices signed in to the same Apple Account.

  • Linked folder saves organized copies of your receipts and documents to a folder you pick in the Files app (for example in iCloud Drive), filed by year, business and quarter.

You can use both, and change either one later in Settings. If you choose neither, your records live only on that iPhone, and CacheKeep shows a "Not backed up" reminder. If the app is deleted or the phone is lost, records that aren't backed up can't be recovered.

How does iCloud Sync work?

Turn it on in Settings › iCloud Sync. You need to be signed in to iCloud on the device. CacheKeep syncs while the app is open, so open it on your other device to pull in the latest changes. Turning sync off stops syncing but doesn't erase the copy already in your iCloud.

I got a new iPhone. How do I move my records?

  1. On your old phone, make sure iCloud Sync is on and has finished syncing (check "Last synced" in Settings).

  2. Install CacheKeep on the new phone, signed in to the same Apple Account.

  3. When CacheKeep finds your existing records, it offers Restore from iCloud. Tap it to bring back your businesses, events, items and attached files.

No iCloud Sync? Your linked folder still has copies of your receipts and documents, but those are files rather than CacheKeep records. A full iPhone backup and restore (iCloud Backup or your computer) also carries CacheKeep's on-device data to a new phone.

How do I export the year-end package for my accountant?

Open Reports (from Home), choose the period and business, then tap:

  • Year-End Package for a single .zip file containing a spreadsheet of your expenses, a mileage log, a readable summary and every receipt, foldered by business and quarter. The summary opens in any web browser, so your accountant doesn't need CacheKeep.

  • Export Spreadsheet (CSV) if you only need the numbers.

Either one opens the share sheet, so you can email it, AirDrop it or save it to Files.

What mileage rate does CacheKeep use?

Each trip is valued at the IRS standard mileage rate for the date it was driven, so trips from different years (or before and after a mid-year rate change) are valued correctly. Reports show which rate was used. Rates are built into the app and updated with app updates, so always double-check the current rate at irs.gov before you file.

How do I track a trip with GPS?

Start a mileage trip when you leave and tap Stop when you arrive. To keep counting while your phone is locked or you're in another app, allow location Always when iOS asks. CacheKeep only measures between Start and Stop, saves the distance rather than the route, and shows the live distance on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island while a trip is running. You can also enter miles by hand.

How do I use NOT.A.CPA?

NOT.A.CPA is a built-in helper for questions like “Can I write off meals on a work trip?” Open it from Home › NOT.A.CPA, or ask from an expense to include its details.

  • It runs entirely on your iPhone with Apple Intelligence. It’s free, there’s nothing to set up, and your questions never leave your phone.

  • It needs an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, running iOS 26 or later, with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings › Apple Intelligence & Siri.

  • If NOT.A.CPA says it isn’t available, it will tell you why: the iPhone doesn’t support Apple Intelligence, Apple Intelligence is turned off, or it’s still downloading (try again once it finishes). Everything else in CacheKeep works the same either way.

  • You can check its status in Settings › NOT.A.CPA.

Not tax advice. NOT.A.CPA (and CacheKeep's estimated deduction) gives friendly, general information only. It isn't tax, legal or financial advice, and it isn't a CPA (it's right there in the name). Always confirm anything that affects your filing with your accountant or a qualified tax professional.

Can I lock my business information with Face ID?

Yes. Each business can have a Business Profile (legal, tax, banking and compliance details plus certificates). You can lock a profile with a PIN or Face ID, so it stays private if someone else picks up your phone. The lock applies to the Business Profile, not to the whole app.

I deleted something by mistake. Can I get it back?

Usually, yes. Deleted items, receipts included, wait in Settings › Recently Deleted for 30 days. Tap one to restore it. It goes back into the event it came from (and brings that event back if needed). After 30 days items are removed for good.

Deleting a whole event, business or contact happens right away and isn't kept in Recently Deleted, so CacheKeep asks you to confirm first.

What does "Start Fresh" do?

At the end of a quarter or tax year, Settings › New Quarter › Start Fresh saves everything to your linked folder and then clears the events and files from this device (and from iCloud Sync) so you start clean. Your businesses, settings and Business Profiles are kept. Link a folder first. Without one, the cleared records aren't saved anywhere else.

Why does CacheKeep ask for these permissions?

Every permission is optional and only used when you use the feature:

  • Camera: scanning receipts, documents and business cards

  • Photos: attaching receipt photos you pick

  • Microphone: recording voice memos for an expense or trip

  • Location (While Using / Always): measuring a business trip you start, even with the screen locked

  • Face ID: unlocking a Business Profile you protected

  • Contacts: saving business contacts to your iPhone's Contacts app

  • Notifications: optional reminders you turn on (quarter end, Inbox items, recurring bills)

If you said no earlier and want to change it, go to the iPhone Settings app › CacheKeep.

How do I get files from other apps into CacheKeep?

Use the share sheet in Mail, Files, Safari or Photos and choose Save to CacheKeep. The file waits in Add › Inbox until you file it under an event.

Where are my files on the iPhone?

Open the Files app and go to On My iPhone › CacheKeep to see your scans, photos and voice memos.

How do I delete all my data?

See "Deleting your data" in the Privacy Policy. In short: delete items or events in the app, empty Recently Deleted, remove CacheKeep's data from your iCloud storage if you used sync, and delete the app.

Still stuck?

Email headyeti@bigyetigames.com. We'll get back to you as soon as we can, usually within a couple of business days.
